3 reasons why Gran Canaria is better than Tenerife
Gran Canaria is a beautiful island stuffed with numerous things to do and see. It has definitely been one of my best holidays, and for that reason I couldn’t possibly recommend it more. It’s been an increasingly popular holiday destination for many years now, and it’s clear why. Let’s look at the 3 things I love about Gran Canaria the most! And believe me, there was a great deal to choose from.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – This is the capital of the island, and it has a population of more than 400’000 people. It’s definitely the place to be, it has everything you could possibly need. Check out the interesting museums and expeditions, and if you decide to go at the beginning of a new year, you may well be just in time for the annual carnival that runs between January and February. Lots of people travel from all over simply for this event. It is completely spectacular. Las Palmas has lots of history to it, and it’s definitely worth reading up on it prior to going and also while you are there. You can pick up some good information sources from a tourist office.
The nightlife – You’ll have a truly fantastic night out in
Playa del Ingles
. The good thing is, there’s plenty of variation, and therefore something for everyone. Whether you desire a family restaurant or a proper nightclub – it’s all available. It’s not only all drink and food though. There’s plenty of theatre, including dance and comedy shows. Enthusiastic about live music? No problem, you’ll find plenty of it to enjoy. If you wish to be somewhere with amazing nightlife, Gran Canaria is the place for this.
The shopping – For a number of us, good shopping is part of a good holiday. If you agree, then you’ll probably be happy to hear there are lots of great stores available. There is plenty of variety. In Triana, there is a wide variety of boutique-style stores waiting for your custom. The shopping scene in this area is incredibly different from most other place, making it a pretty unique experience.
Overall, there is plenty to love about
Gran Canaria
. If you’re deciding where to go on vacation, this will without a doubt be your top consideration.
