Visit the Unique Outback Pubs of Australia
For a true Australian tourist attraction, visit an Outback Pub in the Outback of Australia. The walls are filled with memorabilia of times gone by. The locals will always have a yarn to tell over a beer and it gives you a first hand opportunity of hearing what it is like living in the Outback of Australia.
The outback publican, with their laid back style, will always welcome the outback traveller with a cold beer and a tall tale. There is many an outback pub that has survived the times and still remains today along the old stock routes and 4WD tracks of the Outback.
Outback pubs are gathering places for the locals, whether it’s the people living in the town, or driving a couple of hours from a local station. Come in and experience true country hospitality where no-one is a stranger, the beer is cold and the steaks fill your plate. There is always a friendly smile as you walk through the door, and everyone is known as “mate”.
If you are travelling through an outback town, drop in at the local pub, with its wide open verandahs and welcoming atmosphere. It’s here you’ll discover the soul of a town, where the beer is cold and plenty of a yarns is spun. There’s nothing we Aussie’s like more than to crack open a cold beer on a hot summers day. So when you are in the Outback, stopping at a welcoming watering hole to wash down the taste of dust with a cold beer is the Outback Aussie way of life.
Some of the Outback Pubs are:
Innamincka Hotel
Innamincka Hotel is a stop over for pastoral workers with the addition of everyday travellers, blokes on fishing/camping trips, mining contractors, tour groups, truckies, and international explorers to name a few.
William Creek Hotel
William Creek Hotel stands out like a oasis in the desert, along the Oodnadatta Track about halfway from Oodnadatta to Marree, and halfway from Adelaide to Alice Springs. The William Creek Hotel was built in 1887 to service the Ghan railway line that travelled between Alice Springs and Adelaide.
Craddock Hotel
Craddock Hotel can be found in Cradock on the road between Ororoo and Hawker. If you want to visit a bush pub then this is it, they do great meals and also have accommodation.
